I'm not a Drupal developer but a pro Drupal site builder. I can read PHP and able to tweak and even write some code. I was thinking about learning the development but came across this idea that in D8 we have symphony and some other big changes. Now the question is that shall I start learning D8 dev or I should start with D7 dev?
It looks to me like the DrupalModules.com site is basically dead, floating in the water. If you look at the forum as a quick glance-over, it looks like the only "recent" posts are from spammers. It looks like NOTHING has been changed about that site since at least 2012.
In 2012, I guess it was, John Forsythe sold the site to a Drupal Specializing company. I don't remember the name, but it sounded like it would end up being a good thing. However, it looks like they bought it from Forsythe, then just let it sit, which is very sad.
I've been looking for a way to filter related nodes and found the hierarchical select project, but it wasn't quite what I wanted. I just came across reference_option_limit, and it's great for my needs. I realized that it would have been great to have a reference to the reference_option_limit in the hierarchical_select project page, but on top of that, it would be great to have a place where we can list alternative project names. For example, I have searched for "filter nodes", and if I could have found the reference_option_limit project, it would have saved me a great deal of time.
