I was set on purchasing the book The Definitive Guide to Drupal 7 by Apress Books. But then I read some reviews, which were mostly glowing, which I like, except they are a couple of years old. And even then other reviews more or less seemed to indicate that it was going out of date as Drupal had gone to version. 7.2 and eventually will be version 8, sometime in the future, though I don't know when.
Is there going to be any support for new drafts of published content in Drupal 8? Or are we going to need to wait to upgrade until Workbench Moderation has a Drupal 8 version?
I have to say, I'm pretty unimpressed with Drush recently for two reasons:
1) They have stopped support on Drupal.org. Very anti-community. Any requests for support get a reply of 'go to github'.
2) It now requires composer to run. Composer cannot be installed on most shared hosts, and I have a few clients on shared hosting.
Good day to you, i created this [link spam removed] in WordPress.
i would like ask is it cool to create a portfolio site using drupal, please drop your suggestions and portfolio url created in drupal that you know of. THANKS
Basically the subject is my question. Will Drupal 8 get any performance improvements in beta or RC? Currently it is slower than 7. I am planning to switch to 8 now. It has a new API anyway and I have some PHP skills. Also will I be able to update from alpha to beta and RC after beta?
Thank you.
