Problem!!

After downloading Wamp where should I extract the file Drupal-7.9?? I need some detailed process of installing and I'm not able to create a database. Could any one help me out!!??

Best install for a website with these requirements???

I am about to put up a quick and dirty site that does these things:

Essential functionality
- customer can upload a photo
- send post to customer's Facebook profile
- like photos so they show on customer's FB profile
- integrate FB and onsite commenting
- Vote (best pics are at top of lists, etc.)
- photos can be organized using taxonomies

What is the install profile that would get me closest to that functionality with the least amount of work? Also, should I use 6 or 7?

Thanks for your help!

Cannot send mail?

hi i just installed drupal and all went fine, however when a user tries regertering, it says

install from cPanel

I have a post-install problem.

I have a production domain running on a host. mydomain.com
I am installing a new site which will have the same domain name on a new host when I close down the first host. The site on the new host is only accessed via ip address because dns still looks to the old host.

Drupal 7.8 was installed directly onto the new host through cPanel/Fantastico

Currently it is access by ip address at ipaddress/~myid/index.php

Error upon installing - unserialize errors

I am a complete newbie to Drupal and have finally decided that Drupal will fit my needs. I've been testing other software platforms and I think that I may have caused a database error somewhere while testing (installing/uninstalling software).

I just installed through Simple Scripts/Cpanel Drupal 7.9. When I launch my site www.postcardsandpolaroids.com I get the following errors:

connecting to a non standard mysql.sock location

Hello,

I'm new to drupal and doing my first install (version 7.9).

During the database setup I get an error and cannot continue:

"Failed to connect to your database server. The server reports the following message: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)."

On the server I am using, the MySQL socket is not located in the default folder that /etc/php.ini and /etc/my.cnf point to.
