Installing Drupal

Hi All

I'm a complete newbie here, and really need some help getting started.

I've downloaded Atrium 1.0 and unzipped the files on my C drive. I then created a new My SQL 5.0 database on my Go Daddy host site. I have copied the sites/default/default.settings.php file and renamed it settings.php.

Could some one please help explain what I need to do next?

Installing drupal i have to type the following in the settings.php file. Is the following code necessery:

$db_url = ‘mysql://root:admin@localhost.drupal’;. Then scroll down and enter $base_url = ‘http://localhost/drupal’;.

We recently moved all of our databases and Drupal code over to another server. We were able to access the database through PHPAdmin. When we go to our home page, we get the white screen that says

"The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later."

Nothing is showing up in the error log. We are not signed in, so we cleared all the cache database tables.

How do I debug this?

I would like to set up a databbase for the drupal Install could you tell me how.

I'm no developer just a senior guy that like to Hack computers and read for enjoyment.

I have been reading the latest books on SEO etc.
I have done a little HTML
I'm ready to learn HTML CS5 etc. Then maybe I should avoid it no clue here.

I came across Drupal because of open source and Socical Networking to make your own.

Here is my situation no web site to practice on. In the book Appendix A WampServer.
Apache. PHP,Mysql etc. which would you choose or should I just get a site?

As part of installing drupal you have to create a database I created a database in MySql 5.5 bence and but doesnt list in my databases in Phpmyadmin
