evolt.org design competition

It's been 6 months since evolt.org - a showcase site - moved to Drupal. The theme we launched with was based on a 2002 incomplete set of mockups, spiced with a large pinch of pragmatic compromise to get the thing launched.

Working Release of Image Tab Module

At long last, I have a working version finished. I've learned a lot about Drupal since I began this project, and I'm embarrassed about some of the code. For instance, I still need to theme it all, and optimize the code.

But anyway, it works, and some of you have been waiting a long time for it. (Here's the original post for reference.)

I don't have cvs working here yet, so you'll need to go here to pick up the image tab module. (The link is a 17kb zipped file.) It only works in 4.6 for now, but I promise, I will update it. (I need to have it working on some of my 4.7 sites at some point, so yes, I will eventually get around to that.)

I don't have a demonstration site set up yet. Also, I ended up disabling all the cool javascript that Jos contributed for now. (Jos, if you're still interested, we need to rethink how your sorting functions will work with the weights.)

TODO:
Put up a demonstration
Clean up code
Theme functions
Link in a basic css script
CVS to Drupal modules
Add Javascript hovering functions
Add Javascript editing functions
Update to 4.7

OpenLaszlo.org moves to Drupal!

OpenLaszlo has made the move to Drupal! This move coincides with their major announcement that OpenLaszlo applications can now be compiled in both Flash and DHTML. The site was totally revamped under the flag of the Druplicon in anticipation of this announcement and to allow contributors, admins and developers the added flexibility that only Drupal can offer. We're excited to have helped them do so. Check it out and let us know what you think!

Thanks,

Another nice site running Drupal -- and their announcement contains some interesting remarks:

"Getting to know Drupal" in Linux-Watch

I just spotted a nice brief article by Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols in Linux-Watch about his experience setting up a site with Drupal:

Drupal 4.7.0 beta 5 available

A bit over a month after the release of fourth beta release the Drupal development team is pleased to announce the fifth beta release of Drupal 4.7.0! It is available for immediate download.

This beta release is hopefully the final beta release for Drupal 4.7.0 and marks a significant improvement in the Drupal 4.7.0 codebase. Since beta 4, a lot of critical and non-critical bugs have been fixed. All of these changes are detailed in the changelog. However, there are still more bugs to be found, reported, and fixed before a release candidate can be made. The good news is that, with your help, we can release Drupal 4.7.0 RC1 much sooner.
