Hosting support

Has anyone here used IPower's virtual private servers? If so, what was your experience?

A while back, I purchased a shared hosting package from a "friend" of a friend. About a week ago, I discovered that my sites had gone off-line, and I've gone through a series of excuses from my own friends (who have working sites hosted by same).

Suffice to say, in this same time, I have lost access not only to my own sites, but had my account deleted from their support system as well.

vhost.org.uk is a UK-based hosting company focusing on providing web hosting and services for open source systems. I’ve just finished the first phase of setting up our site and our Drupal service. For £5 a month (£60 a year), we offer:

- Installation of Drupal 4.6.x or 4.7
- Unlimited web space
- Unlimited email accounts
- Unlimited (and unmetered) data transfer
- MySQL database

Just wondering if anyone out there can recommend any good Australian hosting companies who have the capability of running drupal? (And possibly has a few examples too)

Fellow Drupalists,

as I am rather unhappy with the webspace my site is
being hosted right now, I am looking for alternatives.

Probably I end up with a virtual server or a pretty old
dedicated server in order to save money.

If there are two or three of you who have similar
plans we could combine forces (=money) and
rent a state-of-the-art server.
