Drupal is killing my server again!

I need a host that can handle a heavily trafficked Drupal site. Don't reply with your affiliate link.

Slightly OT - Privacy on domain names

The people at Godaddy talked me into getting the privacy option on all my domain names. This hides my personal info from whois. I've got a couple domains coming up for renewall and I'm debating whether to keep it. I'm not terribly worried about my name and number being on the net... It's on Google anyway. But they claimed I'd get spam phone calls and such without it so it sounded good at the time.

So I'm wondering what others due. If you are registering domains with your personal (not business) info, do you bother with the privacy? Am I just wasting my money?

Thanks,

Good Reseller Host?

Am in process of getting a reseller account. Actually, I just got a HostGator reseller account, but I've just realized they don't have shell/telnet access, nor do they have the backup manager enabled in WHM. Will probably be deciding on something soon, but I thought I'd come here and ask as Google has been rendered useless. (vis-a-vis all the spam-monkeys who optimize for the keywords "reseller hosting").

GREAT HOSTING FOR NEWBIES! Meant4.com

I'm a complete neophyte when it comes to Drupal, PHP, ALL OF IT!

The people over at www.meant4.com had my hosting, domain and drupal up and running within an hour without any problems. Now, my website is taking shape thanks to them.

Extremely swift customer support and very friendly!

Westhost.com - servers misconfigured - google index errors

Problem:

Misconfigured Westhost servers lead to the google bot assigning your sites content to another URL and a third sites content to your URL. For all the sites I could check, the oldest incorrect google cache is Feb 3, 2006. This may affect all shared hosting acounts on westhost without a dedicated IP. This bug defeats the whole point of using drupal and clean URLS and pathauto.

Request:

Could any drupal users on westhost, check their sites on google and confirm that a search for their sites content returns a different URL and for fun you should see what content google has affiliated with your URL.

If anyone has a particularly funny example of this cross site indexing, please add a comment to
http://westhost-sucks.blogdns.org

Westhost Response:

Westhost has known about the problem for some time and tells customers to wait or pay more money for a dedicated IP address.

Almost a month ago on the westhost forums a westhost representative posted:
"This is a bug within the VPS software-- specifically the component that manages HTTP requests to accounts with a shared IP address. This bug was only recently discovered as a result of some changes Google has made to the way they index pages. The result is the problem that you have described. And yes-- accounts with dedicated IP addresses are not effected as there is no "middle man" between Google and the web server.

Has anyone here use IPower VPS?

Has anyone here used IPower's virtual private servers? If so, what was your experience?
