Suggestions for dedicated servers?

So far the recommendations have been for shared hosting; does anyone have recommendations on dedicated (and while we're at it, managed) hosting?

What's the Hosting Requirement for Drupal 6.x

hi,
I found there are a lot of posts to recommend the web hosting companies for Drupal, and just say it's good. But I believe we need to make a judgement by ourselves. And it would be good to start from analyzing what kinds of features we will need from web hosting package to run Drupal 6.x

Who can share their experience here. I hope there is no link related to recommendation of web hosting companies in it, and just the requirement.

Thanks,
Steven

Ads in this forum -- Opinions?

For a long time, I left ads for hosting companies alone in this forum thinking they were on topic. Then I was talking about it on IRC and it sounded like they should be treated like any other ads in the forum; delete and block. (Sorry, but I don't remember who exactly I was talking to... This was a week or two ago). So when I saw an ad for a hosting company posted by a brand new person both here and in the announcements forum, I deleted them and blocked the user like I would with any other spamming.

bellsouth hosting

Has anyone tryed bellsouths shared web hosting the company i work for wants me to try and update the company web site from html to drupal and they use bellsouth for hosting. I contacted bells tech support about using drupal and they said they did not support it but it could be installed on thier system and i would have to read the drupal documentation on how to do it. I have never went live with a website before and am still new to drupal so any advice would be helpful

Need VPS Host Recommendations

I'm looking for opinions on VPS hosts. I need something fast and reliable, but not necessarily the most space or bandwidth.

Dot Mac?

Hi,

I'm going to develop a Drupal site for a friend's small business. She has a Dot Mac account and asked if that would be suitable. I told her that I think it's unlikely, but I don't really know. Dot Mac has no mention of Apache/MySQL/PHP that I could find, but I'm actually making assumptions.

Does anyone know?

Thanks. :-)
