Hosting in Spain

Does anyone know of a good company in Spain that provides linux hosting from Spapish IPs? I would need somewhere to set up a drupal installation with clean URLs.

Thanks

Lunarpages.com for hosting a Drupal site?

I have a potential client that already has a site set up at lunarpages.com and wishes to stay there. I'm hoping to convert the site to Drupal and am just interested in any feedback, problems encountered, success stories, etc.

Thanks!

Tim

Sending email in godaddy.com

Is there anyone here using godaddy.com as hosting company?

I tried to use gmail as smtp server to sending email and got the following error.

warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to ssl://smtp.google.com:465 (Connection timed out) in /home/content/s/f/c/sfchinatown/html/modules/smtp/smtp.module on line 1878.

Is it possible godaddy doesn't allow to use third party's smtp to send emails?

Please share me your experience on how to send emails.

Thanks in advance,

Cherry

Drupal requirements (to ask the hosting companies)

I would like to know the requirements (the important ones, the essential ones and the optional ones) that are needed from any host to run a drupal site. I am new to drupal and I am in the process of searching for a host that can host my drupal site.

However, not any host can run any drupal site to your needs. Therefore, there is requirements that must be met from these companies (for example php, mysql, mod_rewrite etc.) and newbie drupallers need to know them (and I am one of them).

This topic makes a good handbook page. So if there is any so please redirect me.

A pleasent Experience

Some times you hit the sweet spot with out trying …

This happened to me when I chose RimuHosting to host my Drupal site

muslimserv.com/myDrupal

I am a 67 year old retired engineer who runs a charity. A few months ago I had not heard of Drupal, Apache was an Indian tribe and MySQL rhymed with bicycle. However, I did manage to create a web site, which in my estimation is OK. Now came deployment of which I was completely ignorant.

Reseller-type hosting needed

I'm currently hosted at Site5. However, this month things have gotten horrible over there. First it was more than 2 weeks of the server going down every night. Then when they finally fixed that, the e-mail keeps going down every day.

Today I've been without outgoing email for about 14 hours, and although incoming e-mail is "working," nothing is coming through - not to my webmail or Outlook.

I've been waiting for almost 8 hours for a response from Customer Service, and nothing. Apparently they just don't value people's business any more. I hate leaving since I have so many sites there, but being without my business e-mail for more than 12 hours without even an e-mail back from Customer Service is just uncalled for.

So I am looking for a new web host. It needs to have a good amount of space (10GB minimum) with a good amount of bandwidth as well (we're using about 13 GB a month right now).

It needs to be the kind of hosting where each account I set up is separate from the others -- their own log ins, separate web stats, etc.

I'd also like it to have CPanel since that's what my clients are used to having. And PHP 5 standard would be great, even better if it offers PHP4 with small tweaks to htaccess or whatever.
