Many people don't want to spend much time in site building and maintenance. They just need a configurable web site usually with a easy blog and a simple forum. Wordpress provides blog software as well as a host. Can Drupal provide similar service?
I wonder if someone know from where I can get a business or personal web packages, email packages or domain registration at one place with smart utilities. Hosting Company must be in local Middle East countries.
I would appreciate if any one of you could be of my help.
Has anybody had any good experiences with hostbasic/hostpro plans of Site 5, particularly when using the flash video module (which requires FFMPEG).
I am creating a small sized website. Users will not be able to upload video, but the site admin team (which consists of two people) will be able to occasionally upload video (around 8 clips a month).
Any opinions (or alternative recommendations) would be most appreciated.
I'm looking for a hosting provider that offers space for multiple drupal sites - so I want multiple databases and domain names. I have a number of sites I plan to put live.
Reading a couple of posts, hostgator (http://www.hostgator.com) seems to offer this. Only thing is, they only seem to offer Linux web hosting and not Windows.
When we started developing Praja.in, an online urban civic activism and collaboration site for Indian cities, I heard of Drupal for the first time and have been happy with it even since then. Being new to drupal and not being developers, we made mistakes and learnt things as we went, but thats another story.
One of the biggest challenges has been finding a host that met our requirements and I want to share my story so far on the hosting front. I hope this will be useful to other drupal sites similar to praja.in which are community funded and hence have limited hosting budget.
We started hosting on a shared server. The hosting company was actually a reseller who had servers with The Planet. The support was very good and we got all assistance we wanted but being a reseller they could not be very generous with resources and I presume they crowded too many sites on each of their servers. In the meanwhile we indulged ourselves in what is known as module splurge and had too many modules running. All this added up and the site speeds were crawling.
I recently hosted my website in freehostia. I am using Drupal 6.10. I found that the modules in sites/all/modules are not working in my hosted website. They appear in my admin/build/modules example FCKeditor but they dont seem to work as they did in my localhost. Please someone help.
