Language filtering and displaying nodes

I have a bilingual site (French and English) and I need a little help straightening out my confused mind. I have become lost after a lot of trail and error.

I am trying to set up the front page to show content in one language or another depending on the users choice of languages. But I also want it to display the untranslated content ie: an English node (teaser) when the user is French. I'm sorry I'm very bad at explaining myself, but right now I can only display content (teasers) in one language or another.

Langauge Switcher- language blocked by "Configure" overlay

I have a test site setup with 3 languages. When I enable the Language switcher (User interface text) block, I can't click on the 3rd language because it has a "Configure" overlay over it. How to get rid of it?

Exporting nodes to a .PO file

Hello everyone,

I have a little question, momentarily we are working on a Multi language Drupal 7 website. We hired a translation agency, they are going to translate different nodes to multiple languages.
The translation agency asked if we could deliver a PO file from the body text and different fields.

Does anyone know a Drupal 7 module which can export lots of content (nodes) to a .PO file that can be translated, but also can be uploaded/imported again.

AJAX HTTP error

I keep running into the following error:

An AJAX HTTP error occurred. HTTP Result Code: 500 Debugging information follows. Path: /mysite/batch?id=7&op=do StatusText: Internal Server Error ResponseText:

This is on a brand new install of drupal 7.23 on Bartik on WAMP. It is happening during the "uploading translations" process after I enable locale and l10n_update and I add the French language. It happens when it is reporting that it is uploading drupal-7.23.fr.po (13 of 45) at 29%.

Language

I have changed my language settings and in the process, blocked myself from logging in.

In Drupal Server Administration > Languages > Configure, I changed the setting selection from "Path prefix with Language fallback" to "Domain name only"

I then went to my language selection e.g. French and edited it, removing the path prefix "fr". In the Language domain field, I entered my domain name e.g. www.domainname.com/fr and saved.
