Translations

Google announced the availiblity of the new API for Trnaslations (http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2008/03/new-google-ajax-language-api-tool...)
So what does that mean to the Drupal world? I think it is the way to go for future translations, any thoughts on this?

I'm newbie with drupal5 and i like to make a multilingual site using RTL language(right to left).i installed i18N modules but which not support RTL language.For that i also install i10n_client in order to ameliorate multilingual in dp5 but it not fonctionnate correctly . what can i do?

Hi oot there,

I just updated a drupal site to Drupal 5.7. Now I wnated to import the new german language file but it failed!
I always gte the error:

* The translation import failed, because the file could not be read.
* The translation import of failed.

I already searched in the forums and found two soultions:

1) Create the file and file/tmp directory by hand and chmod 777 --> does not change anything
2) running in safe mode makes problems ---> no safe mode enabled....

Does anyone has an additional idea?

I used the Drupal 6 translation templates from http://drupal.org/project/drupal-pot to update my Swedish translation project by using poEdit for Windows. I have translated all strings, but when I used them on a clean install of Drupal 6.1 with a clean database these strings are not translated:

• An error occurred. \n@uri\n(no information available). - misc/drupal.js
• An error occurred. \n@uri\n@text - misc/drupal.js
• create page content - /admin/user/permissions
• create story content - /admin/user/permissions

• delete own story content - /admin/user/permissions
• delete revisions - /admin/user/permissions
• edit any page content - /admin/user/permissions
• edit any story content - /admin/user/permissions

I'am newbie on drupal and I would like to knew how drupal6 do to translate content page.
I wrote an english page and its correspondent frensh one and if I switch betewen english and frensh content page changes on drupal6 but not on drupal5 so I would like to knew how to do in order to make translation content page on drupal5.

Je suis débutant avec Drupal mais j'ai remarqué que drupal6 fait la translation des pages(cad j'ai crée une page en anglais et sa correspondante en français et si je bascule de l'anglais vers le français le contenu de la page change en fonction de langue choisi) mais ceci n'est fonctionnelle en drupal5.J'aimerai savoir quelle sont les modules et fonctions qui sont responsables de ça dans drupal6 pour que puisse modifié en drupel5 afin de translater le contenu des pages.
Quelqu'un peut m'aider? c'est urgent.
