Translations

Bonjour,
je suis débutant avec drupal5 et j'aimerai réaliser un site multilingue.
J'ai installé les modules i18N et importer le fichier.po (fr.po)nécessaire mais le problème est que j'ai crée une page en anglais et sa correspondante en français.si je bascule de l'anglais vers le français il y a uniquement le menu qui change mais pas le contenu de la page alors comment faire?

Je suis débutant dans Drupal5 et j'aimerai réaliser un site web qui contient la langue arabe donc j'ai besoin de savoir comment faire sachant que j'ai installé l'arabe dans mon site et il y a uniquement quelque termes qui se translate alors que le menu principal et le contenu des pages restent le meme. de meme quand je bascule de français vers l'anglais ou l'inverse il y a uniquement le menu qui change et pas le contenu des pages.
SVP quelqu'un peut m'aider.

The readme from the Dutch translation says the following:

* Copy (merge) the content of this package into your Drupal root directory.

What exactly does that mean? It contains lots of folders. Do I for instance take the folder chameleon/translations from the Dutch translation and put that in themes/chameleon in the Drupal installation?
Do I do that by hand for all - about 36 folders - or is there one location where to put the entire translation?

A general/strategic questions regarding translations approach:

For my site I will have to develop certain site specific modules which can not be contributed. The site will first be in German only, if successfull other languages may follow later. I watn to avoid having the text occuring in the module in English at this stage and would like to have my modules for German only, first, using of course the t() function.

I've a multi install of drupal 6 with french po files available.
When I start a new domain name install, I have the option to start with english or french
I start a new french website, so I choose french, but once everything is installed I want my own user, the administrator user, to have all menus in english because I like it better.

It doesn't work. I go to my account / edit / switch my language to english, but still everything is in french
