How to change Original language ?

Hello drupalers,

Is it possible to change the original language for translations ?

I'm working on an international website and i have to use Drupal's translation module.
O nthis site, texts will change really often. The problem is that if the parameter of the "t" function is the english string (the way Drupal works), a simple text change in english will force us to update every .po file (since keys change ...).

Methd to translate a site with a human translator

Hello Drupalers,

I'm looking to build a site for a client with multiple language support.

I have figured how to set up the sites using the current language builds and seen the i18n module and the options for translating strings.

As not all the languages have a file ready and I don't speak the languages, I am wondering what the best method is for working with a human translator and having them provide the translations for me?

Has anyone done a similar thing to build a translated site for a client?? did you find a method that worked?

How do I prepare a site for future translation of interface and content, or should I do it now?

I am working on redesigning my website GiveFriendly.com in Drupal 6.8. I enabled the content translation and locale modules, added and enabled the languages French, German and Spanish (none of which I am fluent in) in the Languages module and configured the language negotiation to "path prefix with language fallback".
