Version 6.8 - German language file corrupted?

Hello to everyone (new here),

I recently installed drupal 6.8 on a german subdomain. The installation went without a problem. Got ahold of the german language files and installed them i.e. switched to them via the CP which appeared to work as well. But then, when I went to check on untranslated english snippets that still needed to be translated, the screen came back with a message stating that 0.84% was translated ??? Oh, bummer, that's LESS than 1 percent ... !!!

Also, everything is in english, except for the 5 or 6 items that I translated via the CP. Is there something wrong with the german language file? I'm finding drupal pretty difficult to work with because a lot of things are not explained properly i.e. for people who are not programmers. I've translated files for about a dozen different programms including a very extensive calendar/schedular, but never saw anything this complex before. Most of the programs that I worked with had language files similar to this:

how are you -----------> Wie geht es Ihnen
good morning ----------> Guten Morgen
what's going on --------> what's going on
where's the beef -------> where's the beef

Cannot import PO files for translation

Hi, I do not have access to the root directory of my website so, as recommended by the handbook at http://drupal.org/node/21145 I am using the manual translation import.

I downloaded the zipped file for Italian it-6.x-1.4.tar and thought to extract all the PO files to import them one by one.

However, as soon as I browse for one of the files that I extracted to my Desktop and click on "Import" (for example modules-block.it.po) it says "File to import not found" and the Italian language is still 0% (0/1893).

How do I re-install my translation

On a Drupal 6.9 site, I've edited some of the .po-files and now I want the result to appear in the user interface (i.e. I want to re-import all the translated strings, essentially replicating the string import that took place when I first installed the language, or un-installing and then re-installing that language). I know I can do it for one individual .po file through "Home › Administer › Site building › Translate interface", but I want to do this without having to "upload" each individual .po-file (they are already present). Is there a way to do this?

Enable Arabic Language

Hello,
I just installed Drupal 6.9, every thing is going well untall i install the Arabic Language. That it didn't appear as default language.
I did the following:

1- Enable Local Module In (Site building --> Modules)
2- Setting Arabic as Default (Site configuration --> Languages)

The result is change the direction of website from Right to left (as Arabic Language should be) But the texts still in Englsih.
I searched in Documentation and in forum bu i can't find how to active the Arabic text to appear in pages of website.

Forum Won't Translate

I have the internationalization module setup for English and Chinese. I am able to get the translation for Chinese to show up EXCEPT in the forum containers and descriptions. All of my modules appear to be the latest versions so I am at a loss.

Here's what I've observed:

1) English parts are available for translation in the translation interface--I have entered the corresponding translations.
2) I try to post to the Chinese forum, I CAN see the translated text in the pull down to select which forum I'm posting to.
