Translations

I've noticed that after changing to internationalization, a weird issue have occurred:

Say, I have 2 pages, one original - and the other a translated copy.

If I link to the main page of my site http://www.mysite.com then everything works okay, all links work - also for anonymous guests.

BUT...

If I link to the main page http://mysite.com then the main page shows up just fine, but the "english" translations shows file not found????

I am developing a 2-language site with Drupal and I have faced a problem. For example, I have a page About Us in 2 languages, however, when using language switcher, nothing happens with the text on the page, only link changes to another country code(eg en/ch). Last time I saw a module which adds Translate button, there I can assign the translated nodes to 1 node, so that the switching can be done right, however, I forgot the name of it...

I get two error messages on every page when I use swedish as default language.

"Den valda filen kunde inte kopieras på grund av att ingen fil med det namnet existerar. Kontrollera att du angav ett korrekt filnamn."

"Den valda filen kunde inte kopieras på grund av att ingen fil med det namnet existerar. Kontrollera att du angav ett korrekt filnamn."

Means something like, "the chosen file could not be copied because another file with the same name exist. check if you gave the correct filename"

how to make multilanguage site in drupal or how to put the option for change the language

Please excuse me if this question exists somewhere else. I have been searching for a few days and haven't found anything to answer this question:

I am using i18n (multilanguage) 6.x-1.1 and Pathauto 6.x-1.1 in Drupal 6.14 with the Deco theme. I am new to Drupal and CSS, so please excuse any confusion caused by my (bad) terminology.

I am very interested in creating Drupal websites for the Nigerian market. One of the keey needs is to ensure keyboards are mapped to local characters.

I know all required keys are available on the key board using the right key combinations. For instance our naira currency can be achieved by typing 20a6 + Alt-X. Interesting. SO I know all is possible.

How can I create maps for specific languages easy to switch to. I know this might not be a Drupal problem. With Drupal, you never know.

I would appreciate any pointers.
