Am I able to change accounts language from somewhere else than profiles edit page?

Language switcher blocks does not work the way I need - some parts of the site still translate according to the users account language set in profile. The cause could be 3rd party modules but is there a way to change accounts language without going to user/n/edit ?

PROBLEM IN TRANSLATION

Hello. I developed a website in Drupal 6.13 both in Greek (default language) and English. When I choose English (from Language switcher), the main page along with menu, blocks etc are translated in English, as it is meant to be. The problem starts when, as a next step, click on the menu, blocks etc to read the English pages but Greek pages are revealed instead. In order to read the English ones I have to choose once again English (from Language switcher).

Since the translation files go into the core folders, is it safe to update?

Im worried that if I update drupal, I might lose my translation files.

How can I translate a category

Multilingual Variables - Signup module

Hi fellow Drupal family,

I'm developping a multilingual website in order to organise/signup for trainings. I added the variables

signup-confirmation-email
signup-reminder-email

to the settings.php file, just like i did with a lot of other variables like slogan, mission etc ...

When I go to the specific pages to make a specific email template in both languages, I also see the

This is a multilingual variable.

But Drupal doesn't save the different languages ...

Any idea? someone?
