I teamed up with a cartoonist friend of mine to build toonut, a community-oriented free cartoon host. We just deployed it for beta testing - check it out at:
We expect it will take time to gather a core of cartoon artists. We noticed that there are lots of sites for comic-book type work (multiple-pages, good vs. evil stuff, etc.), but very little for newspaper style cartoons.
It uses panels and views for the front and landing pages, and civicrm for the donation/membership pages. Each section roughly corresponds to a custom type that's just a copy of the usual 'page' type.
Wordsy is a social bookmarking site and community for people who love books. It's been around since early this year but about a month ago it got a major redesign and feature overhaul and there are many new innovative features planned.
The core of Wordsy is its user base, and their love to discuss books and literature in all its forms. The site has its own podcast in which Wordsy owner and founder Hans Dekker, together with his friend Richard Gary, discuss the latest stories on the site.
Hi everyone,
just a quick post to let people know about a site I've recently launched called htmlbuzz.com.
It's basically an aggregator of thirty of the world's top web design sites/blogs, with the ten latest news items from each. You can find design news by source or topic, and hovering over each link provides a preview of the first part of the actual post. It's built on Drupal 5.2 and has only just launched, so I'd welcome any suggestions/criticisms etc. regarding improvements.
I'm quite new to web development full stop; as such I'm pretty new to Drupal as well.
I'd been looking for an easy way to piece together a functional site and Drupal was my answer!
My site is Gay-Geeks.net - a home for anyone that's gay, geeky, a bit of both, or somewhere in between.
I'm still looking to spruce things up with some more themes and a few more modules - but if it weren't for the wealth of information in these forums I would never have gotten this far!
