I updated form Drupal 5.1 to 6.17. For the Layout, I am using a custom theme, which is added o yaml. I added an info file to that Them, so it works also in the new installation.
There is only one problem:
All elements, which are gtting shown by the print function, like: print $search_box are not getting shown. What could be the error?
I've been around using drupal for about a year, and built a few sites over that time, never once have I upgrade a module or a drupal install.
I have read that it is important to apply these updates. But just how important is it? Drupal is a pretty secure system. These upgrades are more improved module and core efficiency, more than a 'necessity'.. Or am I wrong.
If I end up for 20-50 Drupal sites, wouldnt upgrading all those sites be a nightmare.. Is leaving a site once its built not feasible?
I solved the problem below by using the q=user login
I am upgrading to D6 on a new server. On the old server I had clean urls enabled, and apparently they are not allowed on my new server. I get 404 pages. When I ad the /?q= to the urls the desired pages become visible again. I do however also get a 404 when I try to login. What can I do about this?
I am upgrading from D5-D6. I have uploaded the files to a new site: the latest D6 version, my files, Drupal 6, a theme designed for D6 (plus the regulars) and my database was ingested as should.
