update.php?op=selection loop when upgrading from 5.x to 6.x on localhost

I'm trying to upgrade a site from the latest 5.22 to the latest 6.17. Everything looks fine. When I get to update.php?op=selection&token... I see the list of available updates, but clicking Continue redirects me to update.php?op=selection&token.... The batch table gets created, no errors are thrown, but it doesn't continue with updates.

taxonomy blocks

HI, i have upgraded from d5 to d6.15. My d5 has taxonomy block module and i had created more than 20 taxonomy blocks. However after upgrading to d6.15 , i upgraded the taxonomy block module, but now i can create only one block.

There is also a taxonomy blocks module, but after installing it, nothing appears on my admin menu. Is there any module in d6 which i can use as taxonomy block and create multiple blocks.

Thanks.

Updateing drupal core

Hi

I'm trying to update the core of drupal core from 6.10 to 6.17 (as I just install drupal6 from a fresh install of ubuntu server 9.10) as the update said it need updating - see below

Drupal core update status Not secure! (version 6.17 available)
There is a security update available for your version of Drupal. To ensure the security of your server, you should update immediately! See the available updates page for more information.

Minor Upgrade Question

I'm trying to understand if it's okay to skip a minor version when upgrading core (for example, to upgrade directly from 6.14 to 6.17). I've read a few posts which state it is okay, but in O'Reilly's Using Drupal, the author stresses the importance of upgrading to the next minor release number. And I have the same question for upgrading modules ... I assume the answer is the same as it was for upgrading core? Lastly, if I need to upgrade both core and modules, does it matter which I upgrade first? Thank you.

Connect database breaks drupal on upgraded server

Good day. I'm doing a server migration, I have a batch of drupal sites running on a VPS, and I'm upgrading all of them to 6.17 and placing them on a new server with optimized settings. 4 of the sites migrated just fine using the following formula:
Tar
SCP
Tar
&
Mysqldump
sql
Source xxxx
update OK.

modify settings.php for any changes.

Is there an alternative to upgrading this site?

I have an old site in Drupal 4.6.3 that is no longer being changed but should be kept published as an archive about past events. I need to move it to a new hosting service that no longer supports PHP4.x. Under PHP5.x, I get many error messages, most (maybe all) of which complain about "Unknown column 'n.nid' in 'on clause'" and/or "Column 'nid' in from clause is ambiguous".
