Upgrading Drupal

I'm trying to create a sidebar that holds a calendar. I am seeing several options but they are all contrib modules that are abandoned.
Anybody have any ideas suggestions that are recent?

(Please don't suggested Block Calendar or Pretty Calendar, I've already reviewed those).

I get this error after updating drupal.

How can I fix this?

After the updates, it listed various errors. After researching, I determined from a Drupal forum that I needed to clear the cache.  I did so under the Admin panel controls.  After that, my site disappeared, entirely.  The URL is still there, but the site is BLANK.  I can't even access the editing controls.

Help, please!

Hi, 

I use webform in my website. After I've uploaded it online on local server, I've founded out a problem with webform submission since it was giving error. 

After that I found that updating the webform could solve the problem. I've tried it on my localhost, and after that I've updated the website, too. Now I'm facing the problem on my localhost since I cannot open my website. Error displayed is 

"The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later."

I´ve got site running on Drupal 6. Shall I upgrade it to 7 or 8? Can you tell me please advantages and disadvantages of upgrading to 7 or 8?
