Upgrading Drupal

I am getting following errors when I update database using update.php.   Any  help?

My drupal versions: 8.5.3, php: 7.2.5,Composer: 1.6.5, drush version: 9.2.3

Error:

•Failed: Drupal\Component\Plugin\Exception\PluginNotFoundException: The "pathauto_update_alias" plugin does not exist. in Drupal\Core\Plugin\DefaultPluginManager->doGetDefinition() (line 52 of /var/www/html/web/core/lib/Drupal/Component/Plugin/Discovery/DiscoveryTrait.php).

After upgrading my site to Drupal 7.59, the site is down with the following error:

as more and more modules are working with drupal8 it is now time to start to migrate some drupal7 sites to drupal8.

I use a multisite installation for drupal7 and would like to continue this for drupal8.

I read a lot on the drupal docu but could not found clear instructions how to update drupal8 using only the console.

For drupal7 I did:

drush @sites up
drush @sites updb

For drupal8 it could be:

The database size on my largest Drupal site varies between 450Mb and 1600 MB with 5000-6000 lines in the cache database.

Can I limit the size of theses caches? My host shuts the site down when DB size surpasses 1Gb, though I get a 7 day warning.
