This forum is for questions about upgrading an existing Drupal site. Don't forget to read the UPGRADE.txt file that comes with every Drupal download.

Can't update to 8.5.6 from 8.5.5 using composer

Background. Long term Drupal user. Very familiar with Drupal 6 and 7 and Drush.

This is my first Drupal 8 site and first time using Composer.

I originally set the site up with a simple download of the archive from DO. I extracted to local dev environment (MAMP) and started configuration.

I was not using Composer. I had to add Composer to allow me to install a library.

Help needed to restore and upgrade website.

I need help to restore my website from a backup D7 (I can not get it working) and to migrate D7 to D8.

Is there someone so kind to help me?

The infinite horrors of D6 to D7 upgrades - some experiences

If I'm reading project usage stats correctly, there are still 50,179 websites out there with Drupal 6.x as of July 15, 2018. Maybe even more which stopped sending data to drupal.org after 'update_status' became useless two years ago. That's quite a lot, and it seems puzzling because D6 is EOL since February 24th 2016.

Custom user view not showing/rendering

Hello there,

We have migrated our drupal environment to version 8.5.5 (from version 8.3.4).

We have several views showing user information of users with different roles like:

  • Contact persons
  • Users
  • Etc..

This section also allows us to change the information and that still works perfectly.
In our former drupal version we were able to add users in these places but that does not work anymore.
The only way to add users is by choosing "People/Add a new user".

Drush ups warning.

Hi All
I am trying to do an upgrade of Drupal 8.5.4 to Drupal 8.5.5 (This is a
multi-site installation)
I am trying to do the upgrade using Drush and I am getting the following:

host [~/public_html]#drush --version
count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements     [warning]
Countable Table.php:789
 Drush Version   :  8.1.12

host [~/public_html]#drush cr all

admin/people/permissions not accessible (LogicException)

I have migrated a very simple website from Drupal7 to Drupal8:

  • Just the administrator role
  • < 10 Pages
  • Very few modules

The migration does not report any problems, however:

when I try to access the user permissions page admin/people/permissions

I am not able to access the page because of an error:
