First of I want to say that I'm a php programmer since 2005 and I have always created my CMS's from scratch.
I've just started testing with Drupal and I find it extremely confusing how you mix the site management stuff with the admin management stuff, for example the dashboard should definitely not be the first item.. I mean how often will I configure my admin buttons and users and how often will I edit my site.. come on..
My organization is planning a complete web rewrite. Drupal comes highly recommended, but we have Java/Oracle applications that must be incorporated into the website. I have not been able to find documentation for this. I believe that Oracle should be fine based on my research, but how would Drupal handle Java apps? Thanks for your insights
I’m a Symfony developer and for business reasons I have to learn Drupal and specifically Drupal 8 that will be based on Symfony components.
My question is as I’ve never installed Drupal and want to follow the development of Drupal 8 and willing to contribute, do I have to learn Drupal 7 before ?
