Before you start

Hello friends. I am lowliest of the underclass colloquially known as n00bs, but damn it I'm making a website. I was wondering what modules you would recommend I start at to begin developing the website I have in mind. It doesn't need to be an indepth explanation, I'd just super appreciate some start point to work from, as currently I am quite out at sea.

Looking into Drupal to solve a problem and would like to stay away from coding as much as possible, simply use what’s built in the CMS and mature add ons.
Im trying to achieve this:
The user should be able to register their sport scores in a table, pretty simple CRUD operations.
This have to be invisible to other users.

Before I start digging into Drupal to figure out how to do this, does anyone have any tips up their sleeve to steer me in the right direction.

I have some special requirements, and I’m not sure if and how it could be possible with drupal 8. I have some budget for my site, so I could hire freelancers for small extensions if needed...

I want to create event type like "Meeting", "Party", "Java Course", "C# Course", etc. Such events will be registered by our stuff by clicking menu entry "Create meeting", "Create Party", etc... Each event type contains attributes like "start time", "end time", "costs", "participants".

i am using a php script and i have a 5 mb database and lots of user and info,my website is https://www.isvarr.com and my question is,i love drupal and want to turn to my php website to drupal,is it possible? can some one guide me please.

I intend to start a webshop + a physical store (a "Point of Sale").
For the webshop, I am considering Drupal Commerce.
Of course, I want to integrate the Point of Sale software with the webshop management, in order to update the stock data as fast as possible.
I am aware of the existence of the module "Commerce Point of Sale (POS)". But it is still an Alpha release and it seems like the development has come to a stop.
Does anyone have experience with this module? Is it usable and safe to use it despite its Alpha release status?
