I'm looking to learn Drupal in order to increase my marketability as an employee, several large companies in my area use it. I live a long way out in the country and there is no high speed internet where I live, even satellite isn't an option. And no, moving is not an option at this time even though I'd really like to sometimes! For now, I'm pretty much stuck with the data limit on my cell phone's personal hot spot. I have 6 peer-to-peer networked home computers - 2 running Linux - Ubuntu 14.04 and Chalet - and 4 running Windows - 2 with 7, one with 8, one with 10.
Quick one. We have an ecommerce site right now thats doing quite well based on Magento. We also have a community section on Drupal and we are looking to overhaul the whole community piece. First question from me is would it make more sense all round to base this on Drupal again and if so which version? (not sure if this is a biased question on here!), or switch to Wordpress or even try and develop a seamless Magento integration for our community section?
I am thinking about porting my apartment listing site to Drupal 8. Just started and realised that there seems to be no way to have a select box instead of a searchbox for taxonomies when creating a page?
If there is, how do I get it?
Do you think it is a good choice of CMS for this type of site anyhow?
I have a little bit knowledge of Drupal. I need to develop a corporate intranet portal using drupal 7. I need features like,
Employee profile creation
Announcement (Internal announcement, internal opportunities, display new joiners with their photo and info)
Employee birthday celebration
Awards
Discussion board
Forums
Event calendar
and many more.
I would like to know whether corporate portal can be built with drupal. Please let me know if there any modules for the above requirement or any opensource for this .
I'm a half-ass front-end developer. I can figure stuff out in time. However despite my spotty knowledge, go as in depth as you'd like with an explanation, and I'll research the topic.
When I create a new node I`m allowing to enter "Cities" as a field of that node. Given that I have a "mapping" in place, how can I automatically assign the "Country" to that node as well (the user doesn`t have to do it, it happens in the background)?
