Good day, all. I've been experimenting with a Drupal 6 site, getting familiar with the installation, maintenance, etc., and I think I'm ready to take the plunge. In searching these fora and the handbooks I note that I still don't have a good grasp about where some of the replacement functionality for some core needs of my website ought to come. I'll list the few that are holding me back from jumping in, and when I get some pointers I'll start migrating.
I thank you in advance for your patience; having been a Userland Frontier / Manilla / Radio user since the beginning my brain is hurting with this new structure and terminology.
First, I need to create a page where a cookie is set. Second, when people access certain pages, I need to redirect them to a different page if the cookie is not set. Is this possible? Where do you create cookies? I know you have to use PHP, but where do you do that? Do you go through the create content page to do it?
I have a link that is Recent Posts on my site and they bubble to the front page of the site. Is there a way to remove the date/time of when they were posted so we just see the topics?
Also, on our main forum, in the summary page there is the same issue.
I have a website www.ggsipu.info. This is an university website which has many colleges affiliated to it. Now admission time is coming. I am thinking of making some comparison table kinda thing.
For example: Student can select maximum up to 5 colleges and a table will be generate and students can then select the best college based on the result. That table will have tabular information.
Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to let new users automatically have a blog on their own subdomain, ie johnsmith.mydrupalsite.com
I searched for this but wasn't quite able to figure out the answer.
Hi, We have installed Mediawiki 1.8 version a year or more ago. Our issue is that we need a document repository to store documents e.g. powerpoint, word files that are not on wiki. Even though we try to put everything on wiki we still need to hold documents somewhere. We were thinking of using Drupal for document storage. This would mean we could do in document searches within these documents (is this correct)? and can we search Drupal and mediawiki on one search (i.e. the document repository and the content on wiki) in one search?
