I have a blog where I put recipes which I have experimented with. recently a friend gave me an idea to make a website for my recipes. So here it is www.myrecipesforthesoul.com. I uploaded word press with a friend who is tech savvy, but it does not solve my purpose. He then referred me to Drupal , that it's the best CMS currently available. I am not tech savvy and don't know anything about admin panels etc.
After having some installation..."challenges"... with Joomla, I have deceided to look at alternatives for my new project. I am creating a magazine style site with news and reviews and what I need is something like.
Home Page - Summary of latest news from Categories, in blocks with a main headline block for the most important latest news
Then Pages which have
Category 1 - latest news for category, new reviews (reviews need a star kind of ranking and user comment system), searchable reviews archive.
Does it make any sense to use CVS with older versions like 5.7? I mean like if 5.7 is still being developed or it suddenly needed a security patch can 5.7 be updated via CVS? Is that the best way to do it?
And what about modules, they all seemed to be under development. Where's the module repository and what's this:
I am looking into using Drupal for my next site and was wondering if it has the functionality to enable everyday users to login, create some content (like write a news article), save it, and then be able to come back to it through their log in.
If this is possible, is it in Drupal's base functionality or would I have to use plugins?
Hey, I'm looking to create a new Drupal-based social networking site (along the lines of http://projectopus.com, but for classical composers). I need your advice. Which version of Drupal (5.x or 6.x) for this type of site? Any pointers on which modules would be best for this kind of application?
in what drupal does the best? that is, does drupal do the best in blogging, digging, or something else?
