database *only* backend?

Is it possible to install Drupal 6.x so that everything is stored in the database (including things like images as BLOBs)?

I seem to recall this was actually the default in the early days, but I don't see a way to configure it in the filesystem module now.

e-commerce automatic billing annual subscriptions with 30 day free trial?

We are looking to implement a site that offers product subscriptions that are billed annually, but have a 30 day free trial before the first payment, within which time the customer can cancel without being billed.

Poor nonTechie To Set Up Bells/Whistles Nonprofit Drupal Site - Download or Custom Help?

I have a small but growing nonprofit web site. We provide lots of news content but we're expanding and we really need too many new features now so I need to upgrade our site from Frontpage into something a lot more robust and featured. The new site will need ecommerce, autoresponder, volunteer and membership management, project management, newsletter distribution, donations and follow-up management, polls and surveys, encrypted voting, reader commentary posting to news articles, video-photo-sound archives, forum, and maybe someday even a blog, and the list of bells and whistles goes on). Oh, did I mention I need multiple users with mulitple log-ons to be able to access specific content areas (by subject) on the site so they can independantly edit/update from anywhere on the Web. I will also need normal content management and administrative/reporting functions and an Web site ad management system (rotation/results tracking) would be helpful too...

Just throw in the kitchen sink... I know, but it's all needed and none of it will go to waste so...

Creating a bookshop

I've got a project coming up of designing a commerce site for an online bookshop. The current site is built on oscommerce but the clients are interested in a cleaner site with a more user friendly admin.

I am keen to use drupal's commerce modules but as there is a little more involved in setting up an online bookshop I just wondering if anyone out there had any experience in building a bookstore in drupal? below is a bit of a list of features I need to implement

users expect to be able to search by isbn, book title, author, publisher, etc. so it would be quite good to have these fields set up when you add a new product. then also having the option of searching by just author, title, isbn, etc.

I need the ability to load an image when adding a new product this should show as a thumbnail on a teaser and and the full image on the actual product page.

I also need to be able to add the product to more than one product listing ie, a local novel might be in the fiction section and in the local section.

The clients also currently use a pay by bank deposit module and need this to carry on, I've had a quick look and didn't see a similar module so was wondering wether anyone had any ideas on how to implement this? basically when a customer selects this payment option when the order is processed the customer recieves and email with the bank account details of the site.

is it possible to have 2 sites with a single config?

I have a site (let's say www.mysite.com) with content, but want to use Drupal as a CMS to create articles (using story nodes) under www.mysite.com/articles/. I also want to create a blog (using blog nodes) at blog.mysite.com. I was originally planning to create as two different sites, with different sets of DB tables, etc. But I'd rather only have to maintain one set of users, so a single install would be preferable.

Adsense - can I limit which pages of drupal forum it's on

I am putting a drupal site together an using adsense. I have a women's resource site, and in women's health sometimes they discuss sexuality. There is also a teen area of the forum where it might be discussed. I don't want to be banned from Google adsense, so I know the ads can't go on those pages.

Is there a way to limit the categories of the forum that the adsense works on or is it all or nothing?

It's my understanding that Adsense/Drupal work in nodes and that you can't predict what nodes will be used w/the forums. Can I ban categories from adsense?
