I'm new to drupal and recently installed drupal 8 on my webhosting server.
I want to be able to store extra user data in my database such as user measurements, style preferences, etc... But these fields should not be visible during registration, only afterwards while checking their account through a submenu.
I added a new Form display to the user account which has these fields. I can visualize them with a view so that people can check these fields but I have no idea how to make this a custom input form so they can adjust these values.
I have good experience in QT/C++ desktop application. I'm new to web development. Requirement : create web and mobile app to display advertisements(image) and save user details on server after user likes that ad. In future need to add payment gateway and shopping cart too. Consider maintenance cost also.
Some of my friends suggested Magento, Etsy, Drupal, WordPress and Shopify.
Which is the right software to fulfill the above requirements. Please suggest.
What I need is:
- User registration/login with automatic verification (conformation e-mail)
- registration via Facebook, Twitter .... accounts
- for each user that register on site, unique 4,6,8... ID (something like (FGT765IQ))
- field in registration form like (Display name/nickname)
- check box in users admin so when clicked that users Display name/nickname will be shown on main page of site (this is optional but it would be very helpful to have)
Hello, I'm just learning how to use Drupal. One thing I'm not understanding is how to place modules in different regions on a page.
I thought this would be possible by creating a new block...but when I look through the configuration settings, I see no opportunity to specify what type of item (calendar, menu, contact form) the block should be. I can only add text to the block and place it in a region.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I currently have a site with Drupal 6 and phpBB 3.0.x integrated, but I'd like to be able to run Drupal 8 and integrate with phpBB 3.1.x.
The plugin I've been using is phpBB2Drupal, and it looks like it may work with Drupal 7, but how much longer is Drupal 7 going to be supported? Will there be an update to work with Drupal 8?
Are there any other plans for integration, or suggestions?
