I am considering using Drupal on my website but I need to know if Drupal allows users to submit stories that an administrator can review then post on the main page.
I am starting to work on a new business site for a family member. Although I haven't used Drupal before, I am pretty confident that I can build the site with its needed functionality. Except for 1 possible area. The site needs to incorporate some pretty complex image processing, probably be in Flash, using variables that are stored in Drupal. The original plan was for me to do the Drupal work, and a contractor to do the Flash work.
After reading the "Before you start" article, I am definitely pumped about the possibilities Drupal offers.
The web site I run right now uses MyBB, MediaWiki and hand-coded pages instead of a cms. I am planning a major upgrade to the site with the goal being the integration of the forum, the wiki, and the main site. The site has a lot of image content, so Image Gallery functionality is important. I've been looking at Acquia Drupal, and will soon be installing that.
I am trying to move online with a database system that I have been using for the last 10 years that I have been providing to end users in a runtime solution using filemaker pro. I need my end users to be able to add content, edit their content and print their content in a attractive manner. Is this something that I can do using Drupal? I am a beginner in web development but am very comfortable with database structure. I would love some feedback on the best approach to take with Drupal so that I can be successful using this technology.
I just love software that is so intuititive that you can just pick it up and get going with the basics without having to parse reams of dicumentation.
So, to thte ^%$#^%$^ love of &^*&^*%, will someone please tell me how the $#@$#@$% you apply permissions to content to appear on the front page so that some appears when not logged in and some other appears when logged in.
How the $#$#@! do you apply permissions to content?????
Perhaps I should just go back and have another go at Joomla
