Mobile site pulling nodes from a core site

We are in need of creating a mobile version of a website, but sadly the complexity of the site mean we can't cater for the 'one web' methodology of development. What we would like though is for the mobile web pages to be similar, so pulling in the news articles and some content (although some content may and navigation may vary).

Membership base site

A friend of a friend is asking me if I can put together a site for them and I am looking into whether or note this is something that I can do and if it can be done with drupal.

This site is going to be a membership based site, where you pay to have access. It will have insider information and tips.

I did a quick look through modules and did not find anything for memberships / subscriptions.

Why I use Drupal?

I have a Question Why I use Drupal When i have knowledge of PHP and Joomla? and what is Difference between Joomla and Drupal and which one is best?

Design scenario with Drupal

Ok, I am again finding implementing real life concepts difficult in this product.

Here's what I want to do. I have a site, with only the two default roles, and generally only want authencated users to be able to view the content.

However, I'd like to have an area where they can add their own pages all streamed together like the front page to which can you publish multiple pages to.

So, I thought the Book concept?? Create a book, and let authencated users add pages (not book pages or new books) to the book I create with the original Book Page. I called this book page The Sale Yard, created a menu item to it, installed the module Books and Content_Access, and proceeded to no avail.

First, in I set the outline to the book to default to Page.
Then I set permissions to Can add book content, can edit / delete own page
Then I applied same permissions to the book itself under Access Control,

But I am either going about achieving this design requiremet all wrong, OR just cannot get the pieces together, but it all seems just soooo hard to get here.

Ok, with Ordinary pages, I can grant the ability to create pages, but I don't want them all publishedto the FP, I want them automatically put in the Sale Yard area, and not have to have additional menus or other navigation setup by the logged in user. This is why I thought the book concept sounded right?

Add Menu Item

I can't believe I'm asking this, but what goes in the Path field when adding a menu item to link to a Book Page I've created called 'The Sale Yard'

Obviously not node/add

Obviously not node/1

and none of the folowing seem to work

node/The Sale Yard
node/

and do you think my searches come up with a more detailed description than node/add, or examples??

There's miles of documentation for this product abd this forum is the only place I can get answers.

User's custom pages

Hi Drupal community,

I know nothing about drupal and am about to jump into it.
I have a project that functions as a holder of users' pages. What I mean is that this holder will allow the users to setup their own pages on their profile page. Are there modules to help me out on this particular task?

Thank you in advance :)
