Fixed: Which drupal version to use as new drupal user?

Hello All,

I have just started learning drupal. On the main page of drupal.org, I can see latest version is 7.x to download. Keeping that in mind; I have purchased 2 books from Apress for version 7 (Beginning Drupal 7 and Pro Drupal 7). Now after reading 1st book and working on a test website while learning, I have realised drupal 7 is not complete at the moment, especially multi language option is really annoying. I have spent a lot of time to understand the process to design multi language website but I could not get it completely.

I want multiple levels of content, is Drupal for me?

I'm a noob to Drupal and am trying to figure out if it will do what I want it to do before I start beating on this new project, trying to bang a square peg into a round hole.

Basically, I want a two-tiered navigation system. By way of an example, I'm working on a sports site. I want to have upcoming games, blogs, game recaps, etc. BUT I want to be able to have baseball, football, basketball, etc. all separate. I'm thinking I run the various sports in a menu across the top of the page and the recaps, blogs and whatnot down the side or even within the body.

Should I get drupal 7 and other beginner questions

My host has drupal 6.4 I believe and was installed using fantastico. Now, before I begin would it be better to upgrade to drupal 7? Wouldn't drupal 6 have the most modules right now and support?

Drupal for a netlabel

I'm making a little free netlabel site for music by friends and myself. Now HTML, CSS and photoshop I can do but after reading about Drupal I'm still unsure of how best to achieve a few things. Perhaps someone can point me in the right direction with what modules to look into or throw a glass of cold water in my face and explain that what I need is already built in?

Can I use jQuery and JS to make a new order page?

I have a courier online ordering site that I want to duplicate in Drupal. One page is an order page and another is a proactive tracking page.

The order page will make use of jQuery's autocomplete for addresses from an address book I plan to pull at load time from a server cache file. It also needs some JS for conditional logic for the new order input components.

Change CSS on click?

I want to have nodes with lyrics and chords on my site. I need a mechanism to display them either as lyrics or as lyrics with chords without creating two nodes for each song.

Basically I need a button on a node that changes the style (css) of the content on click. (I would mark the chord- and lyrics-lines appropriate.) I couldn't find a module that is able to do so.
Maybe I missed one or you know a better technique?

Here is a short example of what I want to accomplish:
