Before you start

I am thinking about creating a website, where it's possible for people to sign up a profile, where they can keep a weightloss jounal.
Everyday you can type in food and count calories, add weight and talk with other people on a forum.
Is there an extension that is suitable for such a purpose?

Hello to all and to all developers drupal 7.22,

I am new to CMS and more precisely on drupal 7.22. almost a study on the cms, I chose as drupal cms on which I must examine now to develop my websites, because in the past, I created myself and my design I developed my own management interfaces to provide my clients the opportunity to update their websites themselves.
With this problem, there is the problem of time developing websites.

For this I have some concerns:

1 - Is possible to customize my way to my web pages?

I want to move from Zikula top Drupal but I need some direction.

I know I'll need to hire someone for some kind of theme conversion?

I am going to simplify the site because it only really does one thing. It displays guided installs for installing a specific Intrusion Detection System (IDS) into Windows. It also hosts forums, and all the files that are required to install the complete IDS.

Something to display my WinIDS guided installations html files.
Some kind of internal news agitator
Forums
Downloads (may be able to use forums to push files?)
FAQ

The above modules are the basics of what I need, and are most likely already available.

What I want to add to the new Drupal site is a subscription service.

I'm not sure how to go about this, as there may be a module already built that can handle this task for using PayPal.

I'm new with Drupal, I got things that I think Drupal can handle so I choose Drupal from other CMS. I got this Project and my Professor told me to do it in Drupal because it's easy to do it there as I progress with the project I'm lost I don't know how to do it what extensions or modules to use or is there a distribution that can handle what I need. My problem is that the professor doesn't teach me how to Drupal.

I am looking to create a photographers website to display work where different photo categories can be displayed, nice and easy with Views or another module.

My problem is where photos have been taken for a client and only that particular client or their friends/families should have access to these photos, so there might be about 10 different albums each for a different client. How do I restrict access (maybe with a password) to each individual album?

Our company is working on building a new website from scratch. Would anyone have a link to some good guides for the website building/design process? I would like to have a clear idea of what we want before we start looking for a developer/themer.
