Apologies for the rather basic question, just seeking out some assurance.
I have been playing around with various tools to build simple web site prototypes. I want to convert ideas quickly into partially functioning demo sites.
A very long time ago I did this in HTML and CSS. The web has moved on a lot since then. I spent some time with Ruby on Rails but found the learning curve too steep - it took a lot of work to setup the platform and start building.
I have a website about gadgets and gifts. It's new and I have used wordpress. Gadgets and gifts
It's slow, so I want to switch to Drupal.
1. Can I create a pinterest like website with drupal?
2. Can Drupal be faster than WordPress?
3. Can you recommend me a free Drupal theme for my website? (Pinterest like)
It has been said that 'form letters that look the same have as much influence as a petition'. 'Hand-written letters are considered more convincing than typed' because someone took the time to write it. So, what if 'form letters' contained optional constants with user variable text options so they reduce the appearance of repetition?
If one has a web host that offers database creation using MySQL, what would Drupal add? Clearly, I have no clue about how to do this, but the database I have in mind would be fairly straightforward to allow ongoing archiving of responses to questions posted by member of a Yahoo Group. The database would have to be searchable by topic and date....that's about all. Thanks so much
I have been learning and using Drupal for few months now, I currently have a project that requires ecommerce with community feature like forums and blogs.
I'm thinking of doing a multisite for this setup, here are some questions that I have for this:
1) Is it safe to have everything in one DB? - This will be good for a customer to only have one login for both the ecommerce and the forum, but is it safe?
2) Should I do a multisite where ecommerce DB is separate from the forum/blog DB? - That would require two separate login then?
