Before you start

Hey all. I'm part of the team who run a roleplay group, and currently our website is a total mish mash of stuff. I've been thinking for a while about replacing it with a single, functional site - since I'm tired of all the free hosting stuff etc.

Basically, currently our website is set up like:

I have never used Drupal (but I have a great experience with Joomla) & I intend to create a website with funny bets on the campus life of my school, on sports events involving its teams and a lot of other related bets. The money would be totally virtual and a system would grant the best betters some awards each week/month.
So far, I have found two modules that might be useful:
Betting system (a bit old) and Pickem (seems to be updated regularly).

What's newest and best in that field?

is there any drupal module which will paid or free , which can work like this url htcampus.com/college/graphic-era-university/. The main point is url should be changed each time when clicking to another tab.

when will drupal 8 release?

I'm trying to build a site for my company, and I've used drupal before, so I know a little about it. What I want to build is a site similar to commerce kickstart but without the cart and prices. So all I would need would be the ability to add products and they automatically get their own pages and are added to the page of the category they are in. I've tried commerce kickstart, but as I don't know much about views and other bits of drupal, I haven't really got very far. Should I continue with commerce kickstart?

Hello Everyone,

I'm a Drupal newbie who has been drupal-ing for about 2months now. Please i like you guys to help me out as I will want to do a web based application using a Drupal responsive theme.

The application will tap into a central database which is fed by all the remote desktop versions of the software at over 200 locations nationwide.

I have been using Adobe Dreamweaver but now i want to do this on Drupal.
