Is this suitable for Drupal?

Hi,

I've been playing around with Drupal and I'm still not sure if it is suitable so I thought I'd get a second opinion. My website needs to do the following:

1) Look up information and create content (if content exists then update it) from a separate web service
2) Create accounts via a web service

Is drupal appropriate for my web application?

Hi all,

I posted this question about what the benefits of me building a system in drupal are:

Maybe people from the drupal community have an opinion they could share with me.

Thanks :)

How to design diagrams?

Before I start a new project using Drupal Commerce Kickstart, I want to diagram the website structure.
I know some UML, but I'm not very familiar with Drupal Commerce Kickstart terms. I read about them, but I get confused once I start to work, so it's very important to make a diagram before starting.
Is there any place where I can pick some basic diagrams to learn?

Thank you.

Drupal 7 on a Windows production server?

I have not had a Windows production server in years. According to recent stats, few people are running WAMP production servers and even far less have WIMP. The majority of Web developers that I know use WAMP for development purposes only (e.g., I currently have WampServer on my local desktop).

That said, I work in a .Net shop and so, although I am tasked to produce a website for the company in Drupal, I am told that the server has to have a Windows operating system in order to take advantage of in-house knowledge for supporting the server. Windows and Drupal (i.e., PHP and MySQL) are the only given technical criteria; I can dictate what kind of Windows server it will be, and any necessary configurations.

Need help finding an appropriate distribution

I am creating a website for a manufacturer. They want to showcase their products in categories. I have looked at commerce kickstart and think it works great for their purposes. The only thing is they do not want prices displayed due to selling through wholesale distribution.
Is there a distribution similar to this?

With Drupal 8 so close, does it make sense to start developing for that?

I have a new project that I'm starting in the next week (December 2013) that will use Drupal. It will be launched in about three months. My understanding is that Drupal 8 is in alpha or beta release--please correct me if I'm wrong. I understand that it's technically not ready for production. However, given that Drupal 8 is so close to launch, and given my development timeline, it seems that now would be a good time to start at least developing for Drupal 8 instead of Drupal 7.
