Before you start

I am trying to create a website similar to itch.io . Is this possible in Drupal commerce? It would require handling chain payments and file uploads etc.

Does drupal comply with FSA audit requirement, FISC guidelines and security features required in the financial institution systems.

I am looking at building a tracking system that will have basically the following hierarchical makeup:

Agency
--Programs
----Activities

--Contacts

There will be only one Agency per site for now. Contacts will be normal contact info plus a type (Staff, Student, Instructor, etc.).

I am new to Drupal and have watched hours of videos....but can't seem to figure out modal windows for displaying or editing content.

I will have some simple forms (content types) to present to the user with various fields and can not figure out how to show a nice form layout in a modal window. I have used the Modal Forms module that seems to put some of the 'system' type contents into a modal -- user logon window, comments, contact form, etc...but can't seem to figure out how to send my custom content types into a modal window.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a new design for a school website which will probably launch in the middle of next year. Is it worth beginning with the beta of drupal 8 rather than using drupal 7 and then having to pay again to get the template converted? The site is probably only going to be a simple brochure site.
