Community question

Hi I am brand new here lol, and was just wondering if drupal supports individual profile pics when someone posts a new message or thread, thanks.

Oh my second question is would you guys consider Vbulletin or Drupal a better community software, a side from the fact Drupal is free and Vbulletin is not?

Thanks alot,

R.G.

Setting Custom Registration Requirements

I'm hoping to use Drupal for a CMS system for my client. He wants a system where a user (student) fills out the registration form, and if the GPA is (for example) above 3.5, then it lets him register. If it isn't, then it sends an email to the admin asking the admin to review the registration.
When the admin reviews it, if it's an okay one, the user is allowed to login, if it's not okay, then the user can't login.

How to get rid of "/node/" in the URL?

Hi, I was testing ezpublish, but I have come to hate it. It's just too complicated for someone like me. Drupal caught my attention with such a HUGE layman community... since most of you guys seem to be 'beginners' when it comes to CMS and you all have somehow mastered Drupal without too much trouble, this CMS looks like it's for me.

I haven't installed Drupal yet... but I thought I like to ask you these questions first.

So, my questions are:

Does banner module working with 4.7b

I am trying to upgrade one site from 4.6.5 to 4.7b, anyone try is that the banner module will working with it?

Drupal as an organisational tool for a Scout District

Our Scout District is looking to finally make its online presence known, but instead of just another PR tool, we'd really like to develop into an organisational tool for the many volunteers involved in various roles throughout the District.

What we require is a system that can divide up news feeds, events calendars and downloadable files into different categories (those working with different age groups, group committees, district committes, 3rd parties etc). From what I've seen most CMSs can achieve this, but the user management is the critical part that everything else seems to be missing.

We require a user system which has an admin authorisation function for registrants, and a way of dividing authorised members into the same categories as above - restricting our volunteers to only the information they should see. Each category would need an administrator to add content and authorise submissions from group members - this admin would be a part of the District Team and possibly able to view/manage other groups content as well (yet to be decided).

It would also be nice to be able to use the system as a PR tool as well, with a public frontend to display news and info on the Scout District.

I've read a bit and after looking at the Access & Management Settings and the module CiviCRM I'd be inclined to think it was possible - however I've heard Drupal has a strong lear

UnxUtils

I am starting this thread with by addressing an issue.

So people who take offense to this or who think it is counter productive - you are fore warned.

I have noticed a few threads in here that were recently locked due to "unwanted" activity.

It is interesting how it seems there is an almost imperceptible attempt to suppress peoples honest opinion if it doesn't GLORIFY how great drupal is and how great the people are who have worked on it are because they are doing it for free.

When I was growing up we called it sweeping the dust under the rug.
