I am going to build a site using Drupal. Big part of the site is product catalog. Information about the products is stored in database (db). As I understand, I need to create module for Drupal which will create this catalog. It will take product data from db and insert it on pages of catalog. Also it should provide some navigation inside catalog. Also product keywords should appear in page url. Title tag should be inserted from db.
We are a small private school looking for a CMS that will allow us to book rooms & equipment on the web. This includes things like allowing teachers to reserve the Library from 9:45-10:10 every other Tuesday. Or, perhaps, they need the laptop and projector (of which we have 1 :) at 2:00 tomorrow in the Gym.
Currently, they are using a spreadsheet that is saved to a shared network drive. It works ok, but the visibility is bad and it works on the honor system - don't change anyone else's events.
I am doing some research on developing a subscription based web service. Users will need to pay an annual fee to become a memeber on this site. Is this possible/allowed with Drupal? Can distributed authentication be disabled? My concern is people will be able to create free accounts elsewhere and access my subscription content.
1. An integrated e-commerce solution for about 75 products, preferably seemless through PayPal Web Payments Standard.
2. The ability to sell downloadable e-books, preferably through PayPal, too.
3. A blog.
4. An easy way to add about 20 static pages in a nested menu system (preferably horizontal like Amazon's used to be.)
5. A forum that integrates with the blog and comments would be a bonus.
I'm looking for the authentication scheme for Drupal as I'd like to integrate it with a current CMS / advanced data type display. For example, I 'm outputting some elements and would like to give the opportunity for the user to comment on it via drupal but I can't find where I would check to see if the user is authorized. any ideas?
Like the subject says, can drupal be used to make something like penny-arcade.com, nuklearpower.com, or vgcats.com?
Basically what I need is something along the lines of CUSP (comic update script), where multiple users have the ability to easily upload images or flash files and post comments (possibly with avatars). Uploaded files should also be archived, preferably in a dropdown selection(for the love of god no thumbnails, please no thumbnails!).
