if there is any module in Drupal that can make online listing ( similar to personal gallery but its more each people contribution gallery.. )?

At FSM at the moment our editing chain goes like this:

* The author has the article allocated. They get an email with login information.

* The author hand in the article. This would be like "editing a node". The assigned editor gets an email.

* The editor goes through it. If he has questions/problems, sends it back to the author. If not, he sends it to the editor in chief.

I have decided to look at using Drupal for the CMS I will use to build a corporate website for a client so I have installed it locally and will perform some testing very soon, I would just like to ask some questions from other experienced user to ensure what I would like to attempt is actually possible, so here goes...

I noticed a lot of sites that use Drupal utilise the blocks that act as site navigation, is it easy to remove these blocks so that I could just have my navigation at the top of the screen just under my header?

I have been using Drupal for about a month now, and I have to say it's great. In one day I had over 100K page views with nary a hiccup, something XOOPS had a hell of a time with.

I feel like I'm missing something though. I would like to use Drupal as a simple article site for one of my projects, but it's getting tiresome to post a Page/Story and then have to add a descriptive link in the menu.

I'm looking for a module/block/hack that could help me do the following:

Is there a module that will list the xx most resent Story/Page by title?

I have a question?

I m planning to make a website where users can register and upload there own videos and stuff

I know I can use the video module but I have another question

how will be able to restrict the size of the videos uploaded by the users and what module I can use for the users to be able to upload the videos

and also how I make different sections for the users to upload the video nodes

I'm looking to create a community site with very specific needs. I've been researching Drupal allong with Xoops, Typo3, and a few other CMS's. What I'm wondering if what I'm looking for is easily possible with Drupal or not.
