iPad2, what browser to use when maintaining a drupal site

i am thinking about getting an iPad2 (that comes with safari). i know that drupal works better on firefox than safari, so what options are there for iPad2 users... other than safari? i am a full administrator on my site and am not looking to create a site, but be able to fully maintain it. any suggestions??

My Drupal Experience so far.

After 6 months of using Drupal, and 4 years of using PhpNuke this is my opinion of the Drupal community.

The CMS itself is awesome. Nuke seems prehistoric compared to the powerful and versatile Drupal.
What lacks and what lowers its level is the community.
There is no comparison between the Nuke's and Drupal's users and forums, in any PhpNuke forum users will answer your question the first day and even apologize if they take longer (unbelievable).
They will sometimes even ask for your php file and fix it themselves.
In the other hand, the impression I get from the Drupal community is very much different.
Users seem indefferent and I get the impression this is very cold. I had to pay to get a few changes done. Drupal is not hard to use or modify, but when you are starting or simply have an issue other users will just add more questions to the thread and someone will paste a piece of code without telling you where it comes from, and your questions will most likely go unanswered.
It is incredibly hard to get your issue solved, and if you do (without any support unless you pay outrageous fees) you will have to solve it yourself, on your own.
Many users seem to assume you are connected to their heads and will post whatever they are working on and log off.

New user, with questions

Hi all. I am thinking about adding a CMS to my site, centered on a forum but with increased functionality. However, I have a few questions about Drupal and its features.

I am primarily looking for a strong forum, which is customisable, but I have found it difficult to locate a good CMS with a professional forum in terms of appearance and functionality (I am using phpbb right now). I assume that these boards are customisable easily, but are there any functions that I would miss by using these forums?

In addition, I would like a site with a front page publishing news (and preferably the ability to punlish a news item directly from - and linked to - a forum post), as well as user blogs, rss feeds, an articles/resources section which I can organise and customise to create sub-sections (and sub-sections within those, if possible), user submitted articles, image/document sharing (so users can upload to their personal galleries to share pictures and basic document types), and if possible a wiki and chat system (although these last two are not deal breakers).

I know that this is asking a lot! Also, if anyone has examples of the Drupal forums in use, as a showcase to show how they can look, I would appreciate a link.

Many thanks in advance for taking the time with these questions.

Is Drupal the right choice for this type of project?

HI,

I'm hoping this is the right place to ask this question. My company is trying to expand more into the online world and we have a projects coming up and I would like to know if Drupal is the right way to go for building this website. We've had someone suggest using Drupal and we love its flexibility and community but we need a little more insight and guidance.

Google Alerts Style Module

Are there any modules that function like Google Alerts for your drupal site? One that sends out an email alert to a user based on when keywords they select are added to the site?

I hope this is the right place for this question.

Thanks!

Projecting when the number of live Drupal 7 sites will overtake the number of live Drupal 6 sites

I've been checking out the usage statistics for Drupal core at http://drupal.org/project/usage/drupal. It's clear that Drupal 7 has made a dent in Drupal 6's market share, but I'd be interested to know when Drupal 7 is likely to overtake Drupal 6 in terms of the number of live sites. Does anyone know where this data can be found?
