Invision Power Board Plugin-Bridge for Drupal

Dear Drupal community,

I'm Matthias Reuter, the author of IPBWI and IPBWI for WordPress. After some users asked me wether a Single Sign On Plugin Bridge for Drupal and IP.board could be developed, I've started a crowdfunding campaign to make that possible.

To avoid duplicate content on the web, here is a link with further details:

http://ipbwi.com/blog/2012/06/24/ipbwi-for-drupal-2/

Additionally, you could watch my teaser for a summary of this project:

On .org in the dashboard what does "make this your homepage" do?

I clicked that, and it didn't seem to do anything. I tried logging in/out.

Is it supposed to be my home page when I log in, or does it just save the configuration if I move stuff around.

Thanks,
JM

Godaddy host supper slow?

Hi all,
I just got my client's website on goddady hosting. However, lots ppl tell me that this hosting is suck and sharing 3000 website at least. This also means my website won't be faster anymore. I tried to use boost module to make it faster, but it won't help a lots. I am not sure I did not set it right or what. Anyway, can I still get it faster? Because my client is really unhappy with it. and I am going to redo my database and all the image. I will try to lower every single image:( if there are smart way to make it better, please let me know.
here is my website:

How do I tell git to use my existing installation

I have drupal installed and working in its own directory, Drupal 8.x actually, and it's in its directory called 'chalmers' - I didn't call it 'drupal' anyhow, it works fine.

git knows it's there sort of. There is a .git directory hidden in the root.

What I need to know, is how do I tell git to recognize the directory, its version, and thus be able to keep it updated now.
Without destroying what I have in place currently. I'm running on Windows, and using git.

$git branch -a ... returns a blank line

Drupal Done Wrong.

Hi All,

New to forum but long time lurker and web developer.
I'm a big fan of the Drupal platform (as well as WP) as yet to put it use fully in a commercial setting.

I didn't want this to be the age old argument over what is a better CMS, but ive noticed a trend with the Drupal sites i've inherited over the years.

Drupal in the right hands - Can be astoundingly good.
Drupal in the wrong hand - Is amazingly bad!?!

Is there hope for Drupal's ERP crisis?

I have been searching extensively for weeks and I am at a loss. We are building a big new webshop with Drupal 7 + Ubercart 3 and we are in desperate need of some software to take care of CRM, accounting/finances and preferably also customer support and ticketing. Ideally one integrated ERP (Enterprise Ressource Planning) package that does it all

But it's not easy!

All of these functions are of course vital for most businesses, but we can't come up with a good solution for Drupal.

"ERP" is dead, it seems: http://drupal.org/project/erp/

"Drupal ERP" was an idea, but just an idea it seems: http://drupal.org/project/derp

Then there is "OpenERP", but it does not seem to integrate well with Drupal (even though there is a proxy API), it's interface is clunky and we have written 3 emails to them without receiving any replies. It could be a bit of a headache trying to get this to work.

There is much promise in the new "ERPAL" http://drupal.org/project/erpal, but after some research (reading a bit of German) we have determined that the earliest possible beta release would be in December 2012 - probably later.

So we sort of gave up on finding an ERP, and started looking for smaller software packages that handle isolated tasks. One for accounting, one for CRM etc.
