Logging in to drupal.org

This seems crazy, but I cannot log in to drupal.org. Ever!

Every time I want to log in, I have to request a new password. I then log in using the link sent to my email account, and I always change my password and carefully save it. And then--next time I go to log in, I cannot do it because drupal.org will not accept my password.

Is there any way to fix this?

Quick POC without any coding

Last month, one POC came to our team to enable our internal content for external authorized customers through a web site. We were planning to do this with Java, something like Spring, Struts or Hibernate, since almost of us are Java guys. But I didn’t think it’s good to build such application from skeleton. Based on my personal limited experience about Drupal, I knew it should be done by Drupal with several modules and a little coding. But the result is amazing: the whole POC is done very quickly (about one afternoon, I think you will do more quickly since I'm newbie for Drupal), and without any coding. The POC made great result for our team. Today, I would like to share our experience about it. Hope this will help you if you are looking for such solution.

First, the Requirement:
1. The site will only open to invited user, no public registration
2. The site content only can be accessed when user logon
3. Our BU can send invite code/link to their customers and the registration form will only show when user access with given invite code.
4. BU and Admin can withdraw invite code
5. Admin can block user account
6. Use email address as account username
7. Password never shows up on clear text also never send the password to anyone
8. User Registration with Invite Code and only can register with invite code, invite code will be expired in 72 hours.

A plea for "Drupal-super" as the default download

Like many people I have downloaded the latest "Drupal" (which basically means Drupal core, which at the time of writing is 7.16), only to discover later, to my immense frustration and hassle, that it doesn't even include a WYSIWYG editor. Like many people, I have then had to struggle to understand the complexities of the warring WYSIWYG solutions: CKEditor proposes you uninstall the WYSIWYG module, and the WYSIWYG module warns you strongly not to download "CKEditor for Drupal - The ultimate editing solution for Drupal Open Source CMS". I am still fighting with that, but as a techie I will, eventually, I guess, solve it.

But surely there is a better way for Drupal to be user-friendly without losing the technical advantages of keeping core light-weight?

I understand that there is a complex, technical and heated battle between keeping Drupal core light-weight and packing Drupal core with as much as possible. I do not pretend to understand all the complex arguments therein.

What I do understand is that the current situation where the standard Drupal 7 download does not even include, for example, a working WYSIWYG editor is a tragedy, making huge amounts of very difficult work, especially for all those non-technical users, and really harming the adoption of Drupal.

Why are some drupal modules pay only?

Drupal is open source so how can module developers like the one behind Pay To publish justify charging 175 dollars to purchase their module
when in order for it to work it must run off the hard work of the coding drupal community who created the core!? Especially runs off VIEWS
which doesn't cost anything to use but your time.

Sick of spam? So am I.

I have posted a list of my banned users on my website.

They've all been banned for posting comment links to viagra/oxycodone/polo or anything else that has nothing to do with my site content. Its a small list because I operate a small site but I think if we all could post these lists and then aggregate them together we may be able to combat spamming more efficiently. If something like this has already been done, please point me to the module.

Here is my link:

Search Result

Having worked with Drupal for a couple of month now, I have searched a lot on drupal.org for modules and support answers.

I miss, that the "search result listing" includes which Drupal version, the posting is about. The information is already in most of the postings to forum.
