how do you do the cost benefit analysis of a drupal site? (i'm having trouble pricing my projects)

Hello everyone, I'm new and read somewhere that some people would be a mentor and I need one to get over the hump with Drupal. Before I retired, I was a software engineer and I'm a fast learner. Any comments or help are greatly appreciated.

I have a project - OnlineVNC (Remote Desktop) which can work in the web browser - http://www.onlinevnc.com/vnc-viewer.html. Among other things the project allows you to integrate VNC to Third Party Sites here - http://www.onlinevnc.com/support/integration.html.
I think this is a very good idea to make a special module that will allow Drupal or other CMS powered sites get VNC access.

I have a capture page on my site homepage, and no links to "register account"
But I get many accounts registered, mostly with working email addresses.

Since I have not promoted the default register account link
Can I presume that these are all spam accounts? (there's over 200 of them now!)
