This forum is for less technical discussions about the Drupal project, not for support questions.

Please recommend me a suitable paid online course for what I'm trying to achieve.

Hello,

Can anyone recommend me a great paid online course(s) or curriculum that will advance my knowledge in Drupal 7 for the following purpose: I want to be able to build e-commerce style websites, with user generated content or user generated products. I'm not sure if I should approach Ubercart or commerce for this goal. Of course, I want to learn all modules necessary to achieve my purpose.

The horsepower of Drupal

I am a CEO of a start-up and need to determine whether Drupal is the right choice for my complex website needs - today and tomorrow. Forgive me if this is not the type of forum to be asking a question like this. I'm in the Portland, OR metro area if anyone would be willing to talk me through this.

Creating a Discussion Forum using Social Media Content

I'm helping a new organisation on a funding bid to connect schoolchildren in the UK and Uganda. The site will be a social media platform that will allow users to create topic-based discussion and pull in various types of content from social media sites. Storify is a good inspiration, but with the aim of creating friendships and better understanding of other people's lives across the world.

I'm confused and fustrated

I love Drupal,... to a point. And I'm going to keep slogging away at it until I get it. But for 2 months I've been stuck on a problem that seems to me to be dumb.

I keep seeing reference to "custom content types" but Drupal appears to have no such function. Maybe it's a language thing, but at best Drupal really only has one kind of content type and all other content types are merely a modification of the main "article" content type.

I know, you're all rolling around laughing yourself silly at what I just wrote there but that's what my experience is showing me. Why?

Because so far I cannot find a way to accomplish the simple task of over-riding the title url of a post. That's it. Something thousands of Drupal sites do yet either I can't ask the question right or this is precious information allowed to only a select few.

I get sent down Views tangents that go nowhere. I never could understand how Views could have the ability to replace the url in the title since as far as I can tell from the 3000 hours I've spent fooling around in Views, it has no effect what Drupal produces in the "river of news."

I'm not asking for technical support. I'm just venting.
