General API module for common shared ecom features

I'm just writing a custom module to collect user preferred payment details (no actual transactions!) and once again I'm creating the base credit card elements from scratch (cut 'n' pasting from three other modules), so I started thinking about a generic e-commerce api

Only things at this point would be generic credit card things.

* A cc element + validation
* Admin settings for selecting the accepted cards

Others would have a better idea on what could be implemented here, aka what could be removed from Ubercart / E-commerce into a general API.

Multi-User Blog Setup

I have been tasked with redesigning our engineering department's website. In addition to the pages you would expect to see (about us, contact, etc) on a normal college department website, I also need to add a multi-user area for the faculty that's somewhat separate from the main 'site'.

More specifically, each faculty member should have his or her own 'area' (I suppose it could also be called a 'blog') where that faculty has complete control over their section only. In addition, there will be grad students linked to a particular faculty who will also have permission to edit their faculty's pages.

So the structure goes something like:

Main Website / Only admins can
-home, about us, contact, etc \ edit

Faculty Area <-- Linked to from Main Website
  -Faculty1 / These Users
    -Grad Student1 | can edit Faculty1's
    -Grad Student2 \ blog

  -Faculty2 / These users can
    -Grad Student1 \ edit Faculty2's blog

How do you restrict the visibility of posts by a user to the user him/herself and their followers

Hi,

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

I need to create a website for a nonprofit which helps academics interact with groups of followers.

- Academics create the core content.
- Academics can give access to individuals invited by them.
- Academics would manage access rights themselves, not an administrator.
- Academics may want to manage granular visibility of posts inside their group(s).

Profile requests

Just installed a new Drupal website and this is the first time I became aware of the profile option.
Looked through the profiles and could not find one suitable for me therefore thought it might be usefull to suggest one.

Club Profile

To be used for clubs

Should allow:
1. Forum for all users.
- user accounts to also store contact and other membership information
- Must have the ability to send new posts via email to all users
- Even better if users can post to form via email (as Yahoogroups does)
2. Web content editor accounts for those that will assist in Website
3. News Feed that allows specific users to submit news items to News Manager for approval and publishing with RSS feed
4. Chairmans Blog (or in our case Commododres Blog for a Yacht Club)
5. Events Calendar (Allowing permissions to add entries to a few)
6. Room booking Calendar
7. Documentation section for Constitution, Byelaws and other documents normally associated with Clubs
8. Accounts system to allow Treasurer to easily manage Bookkeeping
9. Shopping Trolley to purhcase Club clothing online
- or pay club accounts online
- or book a venue and pay for it.
10. Photos Section for sharing and/or selling photos online
11. For sale Section (Sell your yacht/car/junk etc.)
12. Results section (in our case for race results)
13. External links section

All I can think of for now
