Hi there!

I would like to make a Category on my Drupal profiles only editable by Administrators or a particular role group. So users can't change them on their own. But I would like to make these profile category fields still visible on profile pages. Has anyone done this before, is this possible?

Been checking out the lastest D7, is this going to be the new admin screen style, popup ajaxy ? It can get annoying after awhile, maybe it will grow on me. Nice for a demo but can't see doing day to day admin work like this as the screens are rather slow to to navigate through. The idea of moving away from the current "inside the page" style is concerning, accessing the links directly from the admin bar would be prefered and easier I think.

I am trying to determine if Drupal CMS can be used as a back end admin tool for a already existing Ecommerce website built with the following tech stack.

Java/J2EE
HTML/CSS Javascript.
MySQL database
JBOSS app server

I would write a module with his own content types and relations (Recipe Database). Now I can create my own schema or new content types with several fields. Which is the better way for Drupal 7?

Later, the module should easy integrate to other contributed modules (fivestar, views,...).
