Time Zone & Auto Pruning Issues

I'm trying to help a non profit / Neighborhood Council with its Drupal site. They use shared hosting and I don't think I have access to the Crontab. The problem is that events are being auto pruned 3 hours before the event starts because the site is hosted on the East Coast and the users are in Los Angeles, CA. I read that Drupal has a way of scheduling without Cron access, is this true?

Auto-add a teaser image link to main article

I'm sure this must be a common question with an easy solution, but lots of searching hasn't revealed it to me. Apologies in advance for that.

I want to make an image placed in a teaser link to the main article (just like clicking the teaser title). The only way I know how to do this is really cumbersome:

How to create a "Please Wait" pop-up or a message

Sometimes if a process is taking too long, we need to let the user know that something is being processed and they need to be patient. Is there a module that can create a pop-up message or any message saying something like "Your request is being processed...please wait"
This happened to me for the PDF option, sometimes it takes time to convert a large page to PDF and I don't want the visitor to leave the page.

New Content Page

Hello. Not sure if this is the correct forum, so please point me in the right direction. I have only good intentions...

I am new to Drupal and have a question regarding content. Every time I create a new page it is not blank. The html/code is all blank, but when i view it i see content of the last published page. Is there an inheritance setting that I need to look for?

Thanks,
Samir
