Having problems installing Drupal? See the Installation Guide for more information.

Is this multi-site installation method valid for long-term stability and maintenance?

Here are the facts:
A) I am using HostGator (very happy so far, btw)
B) I have domainA.com installed in the root (public-html)
C) I added another domain (domainB.com) through CPanel. This created a folder called domainB.com in domainA.com's root. I changed the CName record for domainB.com to point to domainA.com's root. (Unsure about this step even though it worked.)
D) I know the instructions for a multi-site installation said to put a folder for domainB.com in the domainA.com's sites folder and to name the folder domainB.com. (This seemed redundant considering CPanel had installed a folder for domainB.com in the root of domainA.com already.) I did this and also put a fresh copy of settings.php in that folder. After this and the CName change referenced above, I typed in domainB.com into my browser hoping for the Drupal installation routine to start for domainB.com. The installation instructions said that Drupal would scan through the sites folder and find domainB.com and initiate an installation for domainB.com. This did not happen.

Drupal and google maps

Hello

I try to build a site in which the content type is sightseeing.

When I create a sightseeing I would like identify the coordinates where it belongs (pressing the point on the map or by writing the address, zip code etc to enable the system to find its location on the map).

In frontend (in each node) i would like to display a map showing the sightseeing location.

Also in the second phase i would like someone who giving the coordinates of his positition, can see the nearby sightseeing.

Installing Drupal in Windows 7 to run with IIS7

Hi everyone, I'm brand new to Drupal. I am trying to convert from ASP.Net/VB.Net to Drupal and PHP. I have already downloaded and installed PHP (v5.3) and MySQL (v5.5). I am reading the book "The Definitive Guide to Drupal 7" (numerous authors) and reading the section on installing Drupal in a Windows Development Environment. I have Visual Studio 2010 and although the aurthor of this section gives instructions on how to install Drupal via VS.PHP, I don't have VS.PHP; I am honestly leaning towards Netbeans instead as a developer tool because it's free.

Which cache combos make and don't make sense?

I'm currently using APC and Memcache, which both work fine, but it sounds like I could improve performance even more by adding Varnish and/or Boost to the mix. So now I'm wondering which of these (and other similar) products play well with each other and which don't? And how does Drupal's own internal cache fit in? At some point, is it OK or even advisable to disable it and let the other tools do all the work?
